WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A judge presiding over Tribune Co.'s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in Delaware says the company can move forward with collecting information in its dispute with actor Warren Beatty.
Tribune Media Services, a Tribune subsidiary, has been feuding with Beatty for years over the TV and movie rights to comic book character Dick Tracy.
The company wants U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey to declare that it owns the rights, but Beatty says the dispute should be settled in California, where he has filed a lawsuit.
Carey said Thursday he wants to decide whether the Delaware court has personal jurisdiction over Beatty before ruling on other issues. Meanwhile, the judge says he'll allow Tribune to depose Beatty's business manager.
