BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Residents of central Illinois spent their weekends celebrating Abraham Lincoln.
The city of Bloomington hosted a 200th birthday party for the 16th president. The celebration at the McLean County Museum of History was dubbed "Lincoln's Bloomington: A 200 Year Birthday Celebration." It included Lincoln impersonators, a flag raising, and a blacksmith demonstration.
There also were carriage rides and a fashion show.
Carol Kilgore of Chestnut was among the participants dressed in costumes. Kilgore says she came out to teach children about history.
