ROBBINS, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois National Guard has plans to honor about 85 soldiers who served in Afghanistan.
The soldiers of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery are to be recognized on Sunday at Crestwood armory in Robbins in south suburban Chicago. Officials with the Illinois National Guard say the Freedom Salute Campaign will show the soldiers that their sacrifice is appreciated.
According to the National Guard, the soldiers will be given an encased American flag, commemorative coin, certificate of appreciation and lapel pin.
