ALTON, Ill. (AP) - Volunteers have come out to donate money, time and materials to make sure a Christmas display goes up on time at a park in Alton.
Thieves stole more than a half-mile of wiring from the Christmas Wonderland display at Rock Spring Park last weekend. Bob Osburn leads the group that puts up the display every year. Osburn says things have turned around since volunteers from Carlinville to St. Louis have come forward.
Osburn admitted he was very angry after the thefts, but now says the new support has softened his heart.
