PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - A federal grand jury in Peoria has once again indicted a former prep basketball talent analyst on bank robbery charges.

Former Springfield resident Stephen Wacaser was indicted Wednesday for the Oct. 19 robbery of the Regions Bank in Decatur and the Oct. 20 robbery of the Illini Bank in Sherman.

At the time of his arrest, the 57-year-old Wacaser was on federal parole for bank larceny and bank robbery. He was also on state parole for a 2007 conviction for robbery out of Rock Island County. He was released from prison Aug. 14.

In the late 1990s, Wacaser was a frequent guest on radio sports programs and source for newspaper basketball recruiting articles. He told a (Champaign) News-Gazette columnist in 2003 that his criminal problems stemmed from a gambling addiction.
