DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Police in Dubuque and agents from the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation have filed charges against a father and son in a tavern robbery that resulted in the wounding of Dubuque Police Lt. Scott Baker.

Authorities filed charges of attempted murder, first degree robbery and unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon Friday against 71-year-old Eddie Chest of Freeport, Ill. Chest was shot by police after the Thursday afternoon robbery at Knickers Saloon and remained hospitalized Friday night.

The same charges were filed against Chest's 46-year-old son, Eddie Robert Adams, who has no permanent address. Adams was arrested Friday evening on a probation violation and is reportedly also wanted in a warrant issued in Whiteside County, Ill.
