Boys missing from Illinois found in St. Louis

Associated Press - March 11, 2010 9:54 AM ET

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Two boys reportedly taken in an abduction in Decatur, Ill., have been found safe in St. Louis.

Police found 1-month-old J'Marcus Upchurch and 4-year-old Terry Antonio Smith about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The mother was also there, and was being questioned.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that after the boys were found, Illinois troopers arrested three people heading north on Interstate 55 in a car that matched the description of 1 used in the alleged abduction.

Authorities are still searching for the father of the boys, who recently finished a prison term for involuntary manslaughter in the death of another child.

Police say the boys were taken at gunpoint Tuesday outside a residential facility for dependent and neglected children, minutes after a visit with their mother.
