WAND transmits a 1080i over the air high definition signal. We upconvert programming and station breaks from our analog system when NBC isn't making a high definition program available to us. We will endeavor to make all special event programming available in HDTV (Free over the air Digital Television) to you.

The LWS network provides round-the-clock weather conditions and forecasts using live Doppler Radar. Specific weather data is collected from locations throughout Central Illinois and is exclusively provided by WAND TV. The LWS network is available via Insight Channel 17 in Decatur. Highlights of LWS include the forecasts and weather updates provided by WAND's Weather Team -- JC Fultz, Greg Trumbold and Kevin Chierek. The LWS network offers the best of WAND's weather technology including enhanced, live Doppler radar; local and national travel information; extended forecasts; and specialized area forecasting. A strong feature of LWS is its ability to deliver you accurate and immediate information on severe weather warnings and watches.

We supply encrypted data from our WAND 24-Hour Live Neighborhood Doppler Radar to 18 Local Communities across Central Illinois. This makes available an updated radar image every two minutes.
