Some area World War Two veterans get a hero's welcome after a trip of a lifetime.
The veterans returned home last night to Effingham, after a whirlwind one day trip to Washington DC. They spent the day in Washington seeing as many sites as they could pack into one day. The highlight of the trip was a visit to the World War Two Memorial. The entire trip, including the airfare, was free for every veteran thanks to the Honor Flight Program.
A second trip is already planned for this June.
