AM CDT...

AT 239 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH POCKETS OF MODERATE RAINFALL
ACROSS FAYETTE COUNTY. THIS MAY PRODUCE ANOTHER ONE-HALF INCH OF
RAIN OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO...ADDING TO THE 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN
THAT FELL OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FAYETTE COUNTY MONDAY EVENING.

SEVERAL STREAM GAGES IN FAYETTE COUNTY...INCLUDING HICKORY CREEK AT
BLUFF CITY AND HURRICANE CREEK AT MULBERRY GROVE...ARE RISING
RAPIDLY AND SHOULD PUSH ABOVE FLOOD STAGE SHORTLY. ITS ALSO
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL WILL
CONTINUE THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE RAIN
COMES TO AN END.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING
INCLUDE...VANDALIA...BROWNSTOWN...FARINA...RAMSEY...SHOBONIER...ST.
ELMO AND WRIGHTS CORNER.

THIS WARNING INCLUDES RAMSEY LAKE STATE PARK.

THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES...
INTERSTATE 70 IN ILLINOIS FROM EXIT 61 TO EXIT 76.
INTERSTATE 57 NEAR EXIT 135.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. DO NOT
ENTER THE WATER. TURN AROUND AND MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND. DO NOT
STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.
