Al-Qaeda sleep agent receives prison sentence

Posted:

A former Bradley University student turned Al-Qaeda sleeper agent receives his prison sentence.

A Peoria federal judge handed Ali Al-Marri eight years and four months in prison. He does get credit for nearly six years served in a Navy brig, although the judge said he does not believe Al-Marri has renounced Al-Qaeda and would have likely attacked the U.S. if given the chance.

Al-Marri pleaded guilty in May to conspiring to provide material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization.
