A drill in the Boneyard Creek area in Champaign County simulated an oil spill. More than 2,000 gallons were said to have seeped into sewers. Crews from the U of I, Champaign Fire, and Urbana Fire Departments all took part in the drill.
An environmental and safety engineer says response crews' time was even quicker than expected. The Environmental Protection Agency requires different types of drills every year.
