Springfield man beaten last week dies of injuries

A man badly beaten in Springfield Friday has died.

Police say the 55-year-old died Saturday afternoon. The attack happened in the 1600 block of South Grand Avenue East. Police have arrested 42-year-old Marcus Beeler.

The Sangamon County State's Attorney's Office says Beeler beat the man with a broken table leg.
