One person is dead after a crash in Sangamon County.

It happened Sunday night around 9:30. State police say the driver was going northbound on I-55 near exit 109. The driver drove off the road through a ditch, into a pole, and spun out of control before the car caught on fire. The driver died at the scene. The name of the driver is not yet being released.     

No word yet on whether the cause may have been weather-related.
