It could be a bumpy ride for one school district as the bus drivers' union tries to hammer out a deal.
The Charleston School District's transportation company, First Student, has not yet reached an agreement with the union. The Superintendent says the current agreement lasts until Wednesday. He says that means the buses will continue to run at least for Wednesday and classes are on as scheduled, but neither the union nor the transportation company has made any commitments past then.
There’s no word yet on whether the bus drivers are planning to strike or when a new contractual deal could be worked out.
