Wednesday, the Community Health Improvement Center in Decatur, or CHIC, put on a health fair for COPD, which stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It can cause coughing that produces a lot of mucus, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.
Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of COPD.
