Mattoon, IL - It's going to be the nicest full service hotel and convention center in the area.
Wednesday, Coles County community leaders showcased what will be the new Mattoon Hotel and Convention Center. Located at Route 16 and Lerna Road, the so-called "Coles Centre" will feature a $20 million Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, and a 55,000 square foot convention center complete with a retail shops and a restaurant.
“Conferences for local meetings, hopefully universities, hospitals, schools, chambers,” said Don Yost for the Mattoon Hotel and Convention Center. “Great place for a large wedding." Yost adds the Coles Centre will be the anchor for further development in the area.
The groundbreaking is set for December 16th.
