Sentence reduction bid rejected for convicted child molester

Posted:

Urbana, IL - A former grade school teacher turned convicted child molester says his sentence is too harsh.

Jon White was convicted last year for the sexual assault of some of his students in Urbana. He wants his 60-year prison sentence reduced by 28 years, but the judges aren't buying it. A state appeals court rejected the bid to reduce his sentence.

White pled guilty last year to eight counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
