IL unemployment rate continues to rise

Posted:

New figures show the state's unemployment rate is still rising.

The Department of Employment Security says October’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate hit 11%. That’s the highest since August of 1983 and up from 10.5% in September. The state is still losing jobs, but at a slower rate.

Non-farm employment had 3,200 fewer jobs, the 21st consecutive monthly loss.
