DeKalb, IL - Hundreds of people attended memorial events marking the second anniversary of shootings that left five students dead at Northern Illinois University.
Two years ago on February 14th, a gunman entered a geology lecture and opened fire, killing five students and wounding more than a dozen others before taking his own life.
NIU's President asked attendees to send thoughts and prayers to the University of Alabama-Huntsville where Friday afternoon's shooting killed three faculty members and injured three others. Police say the suspect, Dr. Amy Bishop, opened fire during a faculty meeting in the campus science building after learning she would not get tenure.
