Wandtv.com, NewsCenter17, StormCenter17, Central Illinois News-Assembly Hall will begin selling alcohol

Champaign, IL - The Assembly Hall will try selling alcohol this month.
The alcohol will only be sold at select shows and limited to beer and wine. The pilot program will start with "Cirque Du Soleil's Alegria". That is March 17th through the 21st, and then again during the show "Cabaret" April 24th.
More events are being considered. Sales will not take place during events that draw a large number of students.
Assembly Hall Management says the venue has been at a disadvantage for national touring shows for years because it doesn't sell alcoholic beverages, unlike competing arenas in Bloomington, Chicago, Peoria and Springfield.
