Gingrich Delivers Commencement Address at Eureka College

EUREKA, Ill. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is telling a group of Illinois college graduates to appreciate President Ronald Reagan's conservative legacy.

The former House speaker delivered a commencement address Saturday at Eureka College in western Illinois. The small liberal arts school was Reagan's alma mater.

Gingrich mentioned Reagan's strong ties to the school. He told students it made their college one of the most influential institutions of the late 20th century.

Gingrich announced last week that he would seek the GOP nomination for president in 2012.
