Kevin Chierek is the Weekend Meteorologist for WAND StormCenter 17. He joined the WAND news team in April 2011. Kevin began his career in October 2009 as a meteorologist/general assignment reporter at KTVO-TV in Kirksville, Missouri. After serving as the weekend meteorologist, he was promoted to the morning meteorologist position for the Good Morning Heartland Show.
Kevin is no stranger to the region. He "hails" from the Gateway to The West, St. Louis, Missouri. In 2008, Kevin graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Meteorology. While in school, he broadcasted weekly weather reports for the Illinois/Iowa/Missouri region on Tri-States Public Radio 91.3.
When not in the office, Kevin spends any free time outdoors-camping, hiking, fishing, or playing soccer, tennis or even a round of golf. He is also a huge sports fan and enjoys cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues and Rams.
Kevin also has a big year ahead of him; in April 2012 he will "tie the knot" with his high school sweetheart, Mary.
