SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health is embargoing all products made at Tran's Tofu in Chicago.
Public Health officials allegedly found during a routine inspection that the company was operating without hot water. Therefore, inspectors claimed employees could not properly wash their hands or clean equipment.
They said they also found rodent infestation.
The Chicago Department of Public Health suspended the company's license. Tran's Tofu is cooperating with agency efforts.
The company manufactures fresh and fried tofu and fresh soybean drink. They are sold primarily to Asian grocery stores in the Chicago area.
Officials say if a consumer has purchased any of these products, he should discard them.
No illnesses have been reported as a result of Tran's Tofu actions.
