SPRINGFIELD, IL- Springfield police are warning residents about a possible repair scam.
Police say 35 year-old Brian Beals has been going to homes offering to do home repair work using this flyer.
According to police, Beals has residents, who are often elderly, sign a one page home repair contract. Police say Beals will then ask for half the money up front, supposedly to buy supplies, but never returns to do the work.
Police confirm at least three cases in Springfield so far and they say there could be other cases in surrounding counties.
Beals is wanted for financial exploitation of the elderly. Police say Beals also has a valid warrant out of Hamilton County, Ohio for similar charges.
