(AP) - Chris Sale will get the start for the Chicago White Sox this afternoon (2:35 p.m.) when the Sox try to redeem themselves after last night's 7 to 2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Sale is 3-2 so far this year, with a 3.08 ERA. The Angels plan to counter with C.J. Wilson, who is 4-3.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The St. Louis Cardinals go for a sweep of their 2-game set in San Francisco this afternoon (2:45 p.m.) with left-hander Adam Wainwright on the mound, while the Giants plan to go with lefty Matt Cain. After the game, the Cards continue their visit to California with three games this weekend against the Dodgers.
CHICAGO (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies will try to extend their winning streak to five games when they play the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field tonight (7:05 p.m.). The Cubs, however, haven't been quite as successful. They're 15-22 this season, and they've lost 4 of their last six games.
CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Sky has picked an 11-player roster for the start of the season, which gets under way Saturday against the Washington Mystics. The Sky will have six returning players, including all-stars Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince and Courtney Vandersloot. The team starts the regular season on the road and will play its home opener at Allstate Arena on May 25 against the Indiana Fever.
