CHAMPAIGN, IL- Controversy erupted last month when video of a Champaign Police officer using pepper spray to subdue a man surfaced.
The incident happened back in June and many residents in the community say the video clearly shows police brutality.
The FBI has now reviewed the case and they say they have not found any federal criminal civil rights violations.
City officials are now planning on hiring an independent firm to conduct another review of the case.
An investigation conducted by the Illinois State Police cleared the arresting officer of wrongdoing.
