St. Mary's Recognized As A "Best Hospital"

DECATUR, IL- Decatur's St. Mary's Hospital is being recognized as one of the best regional hospitals of 2011-2012.

The ranking is from U.S. News and World Report's annual Best Hospitals list. St. Mary's was one of four hospitals recognized in central Illinois.

"Given that there were only 247 recipients for 2011-2012, this award is a tremendous honor for all of us and it is a reflection on the hard work of our St. Mary's colleagues," St. Mary's President and CEO Kevin Kast says. "Receiving this award...underscores our commitment to provide exceptional health care for the citizens of Decatur and Macon County."

According to U.S. News & World Report, each year they evaluate nearly 5,000 hospitals in 16 different medical specialties to come up with their list.
