URBANA, Ill. (AP) -- University of Illinois Board of Trustees chairman Christopher Kennedy says the school's president will issue a detailed report on enrollment.
Kennedy updated University of Illinois professors in letter earlier this week. He says President Michael Hogan's report is expected within a month and it will respond to faculty who wrote trustees in January saying they are concerned about how the university recruits, admits and offers financial aid to students. Kennedy met with faculty and Hogan last month.
The News-Gazette in Champaign reports (http://bit.ly/y5cWwu) Kennedy says he hopes his letter relieves tension around the issue. Kennedy says admissions decisions are being made by specific colleges.
He says decisions about scholarships and financial aid will be made at the campus level and the roles of faculty and deans will not change.
