Decatur - Chicago state representative Edward Acevedo introduced, last week, a law to make the sale or manufacturing of 50-caliber guns and ammo illegal.
He says this would add more gun control in the state, in an effort to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
State representatives Chapin Rose and Brandon Phelps are spearheading a bi-partisan effort to keep hunting alive in Illinois.
"It's a huge economic boom for Illinois," says Rose.
Local gun sellers say more gun law enforcement is the answer, not more law creation.
"My way of thinking, what they ought to do is enforce the laws they have in law today," says Jerry Lee Bates, Sr., owner of Jerry's Sports in Mt. Zion.
