BLOOMINGTON, IL- State Farm announced Friday that they plan on hearing nearly 3,000 employees across the United States and Canada.
The Bloomington based company says that the hiring will replace positions it has left open as the country's economy struggled the past few years.
About 300 of those jobs will be located in Bloomington, with the rest widely scattered.
State Farm has a total of 66,000 employees and another 17,800 agents in all 50 states and three Canadian provinces. Over 15,000 of those workers are employed in central Illinois.
"As we continue to define our workforce to best meet our customers' evolving needs, we are seeking skills and talents from numerous diverse labor markets," State Farm Vice President Human Resources Mary Schmidt says.
Current job openings exist in claims, customer service, IT and underwriting.
