SPRINGFIELD, IL- Springfield Police are asking for help finding a man who may have attempted to abduct a girl this morning.
The 12 year-old girl told police she got off the bus at 17th and South Grand in Springfield Friday and was walking to school when a silver four-door car with a black pin stripe stopped and the driver asked her if she needed a ride.
The girl ignored the driver, who then circled the block and approached the girl again. The girl ran to someone nearby and stayed with them until the car drove off.
The girl then ran to school but says as she ran into the school, the car drove by a third time. Police say the car may have had Missouri license plates.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, with brown hair, black rimmed glasses and clean shaven.
