UPDATE: Police have made an arrest in connection with a mobile home fire that happened Saturday night. The Champaign News-Gazette reports that Floyd Anderson, 29, was arrested early Sunday morning. Anderson is charged with residential arson and residential burglary.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- A fire completely destroyed a mobile home in Shadow Wood Trailer Court around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The fire broke out at 21 Linden Drive, but firefighters said flames were visible from blocks away. Multiple people called to report the fire.
Champaign Fire Lt. Gary Gula said fires involving trailers happen fast.
"A trailer is just super lightweight," said Gula. "Once a fire starts, it doesn't take long at all to move through a structure."
The flames damaged a neighbor's windows. No one was injured and homeowners were out of town.
