Two Found Dead After Gunshots Fired

Decatur, IL - Decatur Police Detectives are spending Easter Sunday investigating a double murder. Police say Saturday night at 10:48 they were called to the 1200 Block of North Clinton Street after people heard gunshots. Officers say once there they found two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Macon County Coroner Michael Day says the victims were 34 year old Freedom Cunningham and his wife 26 year old central Cunningham. Autopsies on the couple will take place Monday at the McLean County Morgue.

Sunday morning investigators combed over an outdoor crime scene while search warrants were executed but no arrests have been made. Decatur Police are asking for assistance from the community to help solve this crime. Anyone with information can contact Decatur Police at 424-2711, 424-2734 or Crime Stoppers at 423-TIPS. Information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible will result in Crime Stoppers paying a $1,000.00 reward.
