PETERSBURG, IL- A shed that housed sporting equipment for a junior baseball league was destroyed in a fire over the weekend.

The fire started in Petersburg's Hurie Park in Menard County.

Firefighters say they got the call just before 4:30 a.m. Saturday that the town's junior baseball league equipment shed was on fire.

Firefighters quickly put it the fire, but the shed and everything inside was destroyed.

The State Fire Marshal and Petersburg Police are investigating the incident.
