Teen Arrested In Connection With Shooting In Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, IL- Champaign Police have arrested one of two men wanted in connection with a shooting Tuesday evening.

Police arrested 17 year-old Jamonte Hill Thursday night. Hill faces attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm charges and is being held on $1 million bond.

Police are still looking for 22 year-old Marcquaz Hopkins.

Champaign Police say two men were standing at the corner of Clock and Bellfountaine streets just before 8 p.m. Tuesday when a dark colored vehicle pulled up and a passenger started shooting.

The two victims, ages 23 and 27, both received hospital treatment and are expected to recover.
