DECATUR, IL- Decatur Mayor Mike McElroy gave his annual State of the City address Wednesday morning. The mayor says the city is on the verge of greatness.
The mayor spoke at the Decatur Business Expo. He says a balanced budget, plus major improvements to the city's downtown, lakefront and high schools all make it a proud time to represent Decatur.
"When I go anywhere, I tell them I'm the Mayor of Decatur," McElroy said. "I couldn't be prouder of anything I've done in my life."
The mayor also says council members and employees will work on cleaning up the community in the coming year.
