State Cuts All Funding For Day Care Subsidy Program

Posted:

FISHER - Some Central Illinois families might not be able to afford day care now that the state says they don't have money to pay for a subsidy program.

The Illinois Department of Human Services will no longer fund the child care assistance program.

CCAP pays for over 100,000 low income Illinois families to have their kids in day care.

Day cares won't get state money for April, May, June and maybe even longer.

Kings Kids Day Care owner says the cuts will hurt her 22-year old business.

She might have to turn families away and make significant cuts to her day care's budget.

The general assembly will meet in July to plan next year's budget where they'll decide if they can start funding the program again.
