According to courts in Maryland, pitbulls are "inherently more dangerous"than other kinds of dogs.
A Mt. Zion woman, who has three pitbulls in her household, and neighbors say pitbulls are catching a bad rap and it's time for their bad image to be put to rest.
Moira Atkinson has adopted three pitbulls and says her dogs are perfectly safe.
"They're just as kind and gentle as any other breed of dog," says Atkinson.
"A lot of the time people are afraid because they have small children or because they heard the stereotype that pitbulls can attack anybody," says Amber Hotwick of the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter.
Hotwick also warns that,"any dog can bite you, any small, large, medium...Any dog can do damage."
