The National Weather Service has confirmed that four tornados hit central Illinois during severe storms Tuesday afternoon.

The weather service says one tornado hit in Piatt County near Monticello just before 4 p.m. That tornado dissipated in less than a minute and no damage was reported.

Two tornados hit Champaign County, one near Ivesdale around 4:10 p.m. which damaged a farmstead, overturned a trailer and destroyed a corn crib, and one near Sidney around 4:40 p.m. which briefly touched down in a field. That tornado did not cause any damage.

A fourth tornado touched down in Vermilion County near Tilton around 5:20 p.m. That tornado caused damage to a garage and tossed debris around.

The weather service says the tornado near Ivesdale was an EF-1 tornado, and the other three were all EF-0 tornados.

No injuries were reported with any of these tornados.
