Pedestrians Hit By Car In Decatur

UPDATE: Police say a drunk driver hit two teenagers with his car Monday afternoon on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Decatur.           

Police say the two teens walked in front of a stopped city bus when the car hit them at MLK Drive and East Division Street. The 47 year-old driver of the car was arrested for DUI and for not having a valid license.

The 15 year-old victim suffered life threatening injuries and had to be taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment. The 14 year-old who was also hit by the car suffered minor injuries.     

DECATUR, IL- Decatur Police are on the scene of a crash where two pedestrians were reportedly hit by a car.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Division Street and Martin Luther King Junior Drive north of downtown Decatur.

One person was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Police say the other person suffered minor injuries.

Police had to shut down MLK Drive at Division Street to investigate.
