
Springfield, IL - Springfield Firefighters are going over clues to find out what caused a two story home on the West side of Springfield to burn to the ground. Firefighters say around 7:45 Saturday night they were called out to 2100 Burgess after several people reported hearing an explosion. When firefighters arrived they say the first and second story of the house was covered in flames.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes but they say it was too late, $150-250,000 worth of damage was already done. The residents were not home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
