Former Village Clerk Pleads Guilty To Stealing

SHELBYVILLE, IL- The former Strasburg and Dieterich village clerk admitted to stealing more than $135,000 from her former employers in court Monday.

Paula Rae Johnson, 57, then made a plea deal.

In exchange for her guilty plea to theft charges, Johnson was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to pay the money back to Strasburg and Dieterich.

Johnson was charged last December after village officials noticed an inconsistency in funds she handled.
