DECATUR, IL- What can you do in three minutes? In central Illinois, burglars have been smashing windows, bending bars and getting in and out of stores with thousands of dollars in jewelry in three minutes or less.
The Macon County Sheriff's Office says there were at least two smash-and-grab burglaries in the county within the last week: one at Bergners at Hickory Point Mall and another at Cozhair Harley Davidson.
Now, the owner of a pawn shop in Decatur has come forward with video from another burglary that may be connected.
Sheriff Schneider is encouraging people to call in tips if they have information about these crimes. He says his office is working with other authorities to put a stop to these crimes, including stepping up patrols in certain areas.
