Decatur - Families who visited two Decatur cemeteries this weekend, were shocked to find something missing from their loved one's grave site.
It's a crime that makes authorities sick, people stealing vases from graves, just to turn a buck.
According to the police and one scrap metal worker... Criminals aren't walking away with as much money as they might think.
"Some of the vases, I know, go for over a thousand dollars apiece," says Macon County Crime Stoppers coordinator Shawn Guenther.
One metal salvage worker says that workers at Sol-Tick and Company are trained on how to identify where the metal is coming from.
He says that helps when a string of metal thefts like this is going on.
