DECATUR, IL- Illinois National Guard pilots from Decatur will be traveling south to help with homeland security.

The crew will be on the southwest border for the next six months to help with security operations.

The border extends from San Diego, California to Brownsville, Texas and is more than 2,000 miles long.

The group deploys Friday morning.
