CHAMPAIGN - Fans braved the rain Monday to see cars cruising into Champaign for an event that could bring the city over a million dollars.
The Hot Rod Power Tour made it's third stop at Assembly Hall as it travels from Detroit to Arlington, Texas.
There were 3500 cars parked, 250 vendors and it was all free!
Champaign County Convention and Visitors Bureau Sports and Sales Director Cory Hatfield says it's a huge economic boost for the area.
Hatfield says every hotel in Champaign Urbana is booked Monday night and he expects downtown Champaign restaurants to be packed.
The event is expected to bring in about 7,000-8,000 people.
Hatfield also expects gasoline sales to sky rocket as people leave town.
