SAVOY - Home sales are up more than 25 percent in Champaign County from last year.
Realtors say the first 5 months of 2012 sales have gone through the roof especially in Savoy where they've seen an almost 100 percent increase from last year.
Interest rates are at record lows and people are feeling more confident with the local economy.
Savoy and Champaign are the most in demand areas followed by Mahomet and Rantoul.
Builders say this is their best year in a long time and they say it's a reflection of new construction.
They also say Urbana has a lot of middle aged homes that aren't selling very well because people know they'll have to spend more money in renovations.
