Decatur Stores Caught Selling Synthetic Marijuana

DECATUR IL - Several Decatur stores were caught selling synthetic marijuana. A-1 grocery on Jasper Street had more than 13 hundred packages of the drug, with a street value under 40 thousand dollars.

The Smokers Den on Main Street had fewer than 530 packages, nearly 10 thousand dollars in value.

Phillips 66 on Southside Drive, with 3 hundred packages, and A-1 Food and Liquor on Fairies Parkway had 73.

The State Attorney's Office and local law enforcement conducted the compliance checks. In January, the state made it a felony charge to sell or possess synthetic marijuana in Illinois.
