Funeral Arrangements Made of Victim of Shooting

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for a Navy sailor from northern Illinois who was killed in last week's shooting at a suburban Denver movie theater.

A public visitation will be held Friday for John Thomas Larimer at a funeral home in Crystal Lake, about 45 miles northwest of Chicago. A private funeral and burial are also planned.

The 27-year-old cryptologic technician was based at Buckley Air Force Base. He was among 12 people killed when a gunman sprayed bullets into an Aurora, Colo., theater during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie.

Larimer's girlfriend, July Vojtsek of Algonquin, has said Larimer pushed her to the floor to protect her from the bullets.

According to the Navy, Larimer joined the service just over a year ago.
